Record what you have counted
Enter the actual cash amount and record the money being set aside for a bank deposit.

The requirements
behind a well-run till
Norwegian businesses with bookkeeping obligations generally need a product-declared cash register for sales paid at delivery. That includes immediate card and mobile payments. A payment terminal alone does not replace a cash register.
An X report summarises registrations since the previous Z report. The Z report closes the period and forms part of the daily settlement. At the end of the day it must be printed or stored electronically, and payments reconciled.
The journal records ongoing use of the cash register. It provides a trail of transactions and events for an inspection. These requirements extend beyond the sales totals shown on a dashboard.
SAF-T Cash Register is the standard export format for cash register data. It differs from SAF-T Financial, which covers accounting data. A request needs the appropriate records for the relevant period.
Retrieve X reports, Z reports and SAF-T Cash Register at the restaurant or online through Backoffice whenever you need them. The team can access the requested records without searching across separate systems.
When needed, pause connected sales channels from the restaurant with one control, including Wolt, foodora and Uber Eats. Your team can manage incoming orders during the review. We help you get familiar with the reports and routines for your setup.
Your compliance questions, answered
Do the rules apply if we only accept cards or Vipps?
Yes. Card or mobile payments at delivery also fall within the Norwegian concept of cash sales. Altinn explains the general rule and exemptions. Online orders can have different documentation requirements, so review each sales channel with your accountant.
Is a supplier declaration the same as approval?
No. Through the declaration, the supplier confirms that its cash register meets the regulations. The Norwegian Tax Administration publishes the list. ninito’s entry names the ninito model and registered version Pro.
Who is responsible for the daily settlement?
The restaurant is responsible for correct use and reconciliation. ninito guides the team through counting cash and handling differences. Agree the daily routine, responsibilities and record retention with your accountant.
Can we get help before an inspection?
Contact ninito for a walkthrough of your setup and reports. The authorities determine the scope and duration of an inspection based on the circumstances of each business.
