An ambition that stretched across Scandinavia

Oakberry Nordic was already growing quickly when its team approached ninito. It had ambitious plans for Scandinavia and needed an operation that could keep pace. Each store had to deliver the Oakberry experience while the central team kept sight of the whole business. Yet separate systems for POS, online ordering, payments and reporting meant too much time went into gathering figures and repeating tasks. The team wanted more of that effort to go into its guests, its stores and the expansion ahead.

A clear view before a major decision

The first conversation was about adding new tools to the existing setup. Together, Oakberry and ninito mapped the systems, payment costs and work being done by hand. That review showed how reports, accounting data and menu changes moved between separate platforms, and what it took to hold everything together.

With the full picture in view, Oakberry chose to bring the operation onto ninito. The decision came around two weeks after the first meeting. Lower system and transaction costs save around NOK 20,000 per store every month. The value of staff time saved comes on top.

The question for your restaurant is what the system earns its place by doing. ninito stands behind Pro and Enterprise with a 100% value guarantee. If ninito does not create enough value to cover your system cost, you do not pay for it. Ask us to put that promise and the scope of your setup into your proposal.

Self-service shaped around Oakberry

Oakberry already offered self-service, but the bulky kiosk setup did not fit the concept as well as the team wanted. ninito introduced a setup designed for the stores. Guests can explore the menu, build their order and pay themselves, leaving more of the team free for preparation and service during the rush.

The menu also presents relevant toppings and extras as guests order. Oakberry has reported a significant increase in upselling. Those choices are part of the ordering experience, without every suggestion having to come from someone at the counter.

The switch took around 48 hours

The existing POS systems were replaced across the locations in around 48 hours. POS, payments, online ordering, reporting and menu management came together in the same setup. The team gained a clearer view of the business, and automation removed tens of hours of manual administration.

For Oakberry, that also changes how the next store can operate. New locations can follow the same structure instead of acquiring another collection of separate tools. ninito supports the operation while Oakberry’s team develops its stores, responds to guests and works towards its Scandinavian plans.
